What’S UP? Floatin’ with Slotin and Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary
WhatSUP? Stand-up paddle boarding, that’s what’s up. Don’t get the humor? It’s okay, it’s an inside joke. Mike and I have fallen in love with this awesome outdoor activity. Recently we had the chance to visit Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary located on Merritt Island, Florida and go SUPing along its many canals. Michael Slotin with Floatin’ With Slotin provided the boards and was our awesome tour guide. Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary consists of 457 acres and is [...]

Tourists in Our Own Backyard: Carnival Sensation
After the Carnival Dream ship inspection on Saturday, nearly 50 travel agents were bused to the Kennedy Space Visitor Complex. It was a whirlwind tour, but still gave everyone an up-close look at one of the most iconic landmarks on the planet. Again, we felt like tourists in our own backyard. We live in the shadow of one of the most popular destinations in the world, and like most locals, tend to take it for [...]

Big Toho Parasailing puts the AWE in Awesome
Recently the Cooney tribe enjoyed an afternoon of parasailing along the coast of Cocoa Beach with Big Toho Parasailing. It’s an experience you cannot appreciate until you’ve tried it yourself. Big Toho Parasailing has beautiful new equipment. From the huge parasail with the trademark gator, to the bright neon-green boat they just shipped in from California. The boat is built for parasailing and includes a spacious area in the front for guests to sit, and a [...]

Tourists in our own backyard: Cocoa Beach, Carnival’s Dream, and Kennedy Space Center
We recently participated in a ship inspection of the Carnival Dream during a recent FAM (FAMiliarization) tour at Port Canaveral. The Carnival Funtastic Weekend began on Friday evening and ended on Sunday afternoon. Travel agents from along the East Coast U.S. attended, and were treated to three-days of great food, tours and local hotel site inspections. The FAM was hosted by Carnival Cruise Lines and Space Coast Tourism, which included two ship inspections, a whirlwind [...]

Brevard County’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
The Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is a national treasure, and the Kennedy Space CenterVisitors Complex is the undisputed top attraction in Brevard County, not counting the beaches of course. KSC is in league with many other historical sites throughout the country including Mount Vernon, Fort Sumter and Williamsburg. What humans have accomplished at KSC rivals all other technological advancements since the beginning of time. Although the space shuttle program has come to an end, it’s important [...]

Brevard County History – It’s a Blast!
As almost everyone knows, Brevard County, Florida and many of its cities including Titusville, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa and Cocoa Beach have been at the epicenter of space exploration. Personally, I have always been interested in space-related topics; however, I cannot keep any of it straight. For example, I cannot tell you the difference between the Atlas, Delta or Johnny Rockets. I just know one of them has great fries. And don’t even think about [...]
